Mrs.Gwdack here. Very Sad about the Old Sawmill Inn. I met Gary there in 1995 at the Memorial Day Parade, we closed the bar that night and shared our first kiss. Sigh. The whole neighborhood watched it burn last night, all 23 of us. I went up there this morning to check it out. A burnt - out shell. Some of the guys who spent their mornings over coffee were there... but instead of sitting at the bar, they were sitting in their trucks with a thermos... maybe lscamper will build something for us.P

Sad Although I've set foot in the place only once, I could feel what an important part of your community the Sawmill is/was. Sure hope it somehow gets re-incarnated. Any "joint" like the Sawmill is a treasure. Very sorry to hear of the fire.

yr old pal, etc...

Sounds like the moonbats are onto some asbestos. Most likely non friable.( I doubt they had a big ole hairy boiler in the basement. Oh yea no basement) Which agencies like the OSHA, NYSDEC, NYSDOT and the EPA consider C&D waste and can be handled by anyone. But ohhh wait we also have the NYS DOL involved who consider it bad hot stuff so up goes the price. The DOL will get $2500 or so for a permit to handle it and off it goes into the landfill to be used to cover the regular old garbage you dump there. The truck dumping this hot stuff can also dump it right next to you while you are there. Real great communication we have in this state isn't it?

because the property is inside the "blue line"................
you need a letter of premission to do anything.............
that "letter" will not be generated until a engineering study has been done.
nothing will happen until "that letter" becomes a reality.
hey......it's only money Crying or Very sad
