first, the new ranger here at stillwater....officially, is now ranger luke evans...315-368-8030...he's the man.
parking lot #1 is on the boat ramp side of the stillwater shop.
parking lot #2 is on the gas station side of the stillwater shop.
there is new signage that basically says you have up to 4 days to park your property on either of these two lots...................unless you are camping and have signed out one of 46 camp sites, then there is no limit.
parking at the setback is town of webb business because you are parking on the shoulder of a town road...........same thing goes for parking on the shoulder of the stillwater road. the south side of the road has already been markard with "no parking" signs. call TOW supervisor mr. robert moore at 315-369-3121 for more information.
so far on day #5 you get the ticket...on day 6 you get towed.
as of this date......4 properties have been impounded.
rumor has it that a big pow-wow this past tuesday 06/01/2010 with town officials and DEC regarding grassey point marina occurred. call the thompson's for the gorrey details 315-376-6200.
my APA parking permit inspection is on 06/08/2010...i am hopeful.

Be aware and beware!

Wow! Ya know, every once in a while somethin’ happens that makes ya go “wtf?!” and this is one ‘a those kinda’ deals.

See, we heard from a really (really) good authority that the whole parking situation for Beaver River Station camp owners in Stillwater came about because the DEC received complaint calls about it. Now, it just seems to me that there might be one, er even two folks out there who just might, maybe figure out the rest of what we learned. You know, like 1+1=2, they might just realize that the 1 who stands to gain the most is the 1 who made the calls and talked others into calling, no doubt in collaboration with the 1 who also stands to gain substantially. And all those sheep are standin’ in a line just waitin’ to give the 2 of them baaaack up.

Like I said, makes ya go “wtf?!” now don’t it? I couldn’t make up shit this good.

Yep. Beware Beaver River people, beware!

just like those stupid STAPLE commercials on tv.
sure...i complained to the DEC on several occcasions, so what.
"don't worry about what people think................
.............they don't do it very often"...........
~some "stupid shit's" would park on both sides of the road.
~more of the same would park on my lawn in front of my store.
~the state law about storing private property on state land has been on the books longer than YOU are OLD.
~this problem went from the frying pan into the fire last summer in BRS when some "stupid shit's" threw the keys to the new DEC police boat in the drink and smeared dog shit on the windshield of same. the ranger's where up there in BRS writing tickets for loud fireworks and non registered atv's. i'm sure you remember that incident. if not, call the thompson's....they'l give you a heads up. Shocked
~i feel pretty confident your "really really good authority" would be john scanlon.....ex stillwater ranger. collectively...the stillwater landowners got his ass shipped to harrisville............now.........he's their problem.
~and.......and.....at least 6 other stillwater landowners are storing boats/trailers on their property..........however........i'm the only one that took the time, effort and money to secure a permit.
~so there......................"rumor monger"
~i must admit the two parking lots that surround my store look so much better now that all your junk is GONE....................yeah Very Happy
just because you like BRS to look like a junkyard.................bla-bla-bla-bla Cool ......the full time residents of stillwater are much more upscale than that Rolling Eyes
~and....and....and your problem in stillwater pales in comparison to your problem in "grassey point"....good luck, your gona need it, sparkey......
i will pray for you.............all Confused

~According to Wikipedia “a rumor involves some kind of a statement whose veracity is not quickly or ever confirmed, an unverified account or explanation of events.” Since you just, very quickly I might add, confirmed it, I guess it’s not a rumor now, is it?

~Scanlon? I’ve only ever talked to him twice and had no idea, nor do I care, where he went. He’s no more than a pimple on the butt cheek of my source.

~You, also, took advantage of the free parking, now didn’t you? Like the time you had two close friends of mine parked in with your white junk and you stood in your doorway and watched as they struggled to get around it.

~The ranger’s boat got scuttled in 2008, not last year, and we were there offering to help. There were no Thompsons there, so why would I want to ask them? And according to my source, the Stillwater parking situation has nothing to do with that (although the situation with the ferry and Grassy Point most definitely does) and everything to do with the complaint calls.

~There’s no law, no permit required to allow a friend to park their boat on your property in New York State. Friends park free. What a concept!

~My junk, a 15 footer on a little trailer, much more practical than a 30 foot cigar boat, may I add, hasn’t been parked in Stillwater since 2007, and I can assure I have never parked on your 100 foot wide lot.

~95% of the junk in Beaver River belongs to your friends, the Thompson’s, and 99% of their junk seems to be intentionally parked so as to be an eyesore for their only competition, the Beaver River Hotel, and the Hotel patrons!

~The Grassy Point situation is soon to be in the hands of t.t. so I’m sure you’re right about that, they’ll screw it up in short order, because following the rules is critical right now, and not only do those people not get it, they haven’t exactly shown their selves to be capable of it.

Now I’m just gonna skip the “so there” crap ‘cause it’s a bit childish, don’t ya think? And please don’t pray for me, God and I already know each other well, and he knows better anyway. d

btw-I think the "stupidest shit" in BRS will be the one who knows all this and is still first in line with $200.

call ranger luke evans...315-376-8030.....or...call his boss.....
capt. drew cavanuagh....315-785-2558..............about all this cryptic stuff you are confused about................
1. the parking and the law regarding same
2. the ranger police boat keys and how the thompsons are involved.
3. the store is situated on 1/3 acre and i have no parking.
4. my "cigar boat" was 90% of the time stored in doors.
5. you have 2 freinds that i watched struggle? doing what?
6. my "cigar boat" was sold over 4 years ago.
7. beaver river hotel is competition for the thompsons! you have got to be kidding. BRH is never open and the last 2 leasee's bailed. i got stuck holding the ice bag on the first. Crying or Very sad
8. who or what is t.t.? regarding grassey point?
9. the property(33 acres) that my B+B is built on is rural residential.
to legally park other peoples property on my property for a fee is considered a commercial operation. you need a permit from the APA and the town of webb to do so......that's the law.
10. so far i have 10 families interested in my offering. several have taken 2 spots.
11. so far 8 boats are parked at various nieghbors properties and counting.
12. i love competition.....don't you?
13. you are allowed to park up to 4 days on state land. yes, i take advantage of that allowance all the time with my property and the property of my customers................."so there"
i could go on but i won't..........we had a very busy weekend and i'm beat Very Happy

I think Beaver River Station is a lovely outpost in the woods and that the people I have met who hang their hats there time-to-time and more often than that are fine decent folk. That's my opinion. Hi Dreamer and Geezer!

yr old pal, etc.....

P.S. Did y'all know you can legally BUY real honest-to-God fireworks in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania? Two unfortunate facts: Pennsylvania residents lacking fire-works permits may NOT purchase at these emporia, and folks from other states must show ID and have it recorded FTR. Anyway, I guess y'all can stock up for the Fourth in PA if you don't feel like going all the way down to South Carolina. I can't guarantee the quality of the products sold in PA fireworks stores since, according to what I've read, the mohammedan terrorist who tried to murder all them innocent people in Times Square bought his m80's, etc., at a Pennsylvania store. Glad he failed. Ennyways: "Caveat Emptor!" (buyer beware!)....and for God's Sake don't set the woods or anyone's house ablaze!

Ya know, I sometimes have a little difficulty takin’ advice, especially when it comes from someone city born n’ raised, a cidiot, ya might say. But I really had a problem with that part about the dog shit smeared on the Ranger’s boat windshield. See, I was there and I didn’t see or smell nothin’ of a sort (didn’t see a single Thompson, by the way). So I decided it would be a good idea to ask Ol’ Luke. Well, that is I had my husband call and ask. Kinda’ followin’ yer advice ‘round a circle, as it were.

And whata’ ya know, there was no dog shit. Really. Just walk across the parkin’ lot n’ ask. Someone (I’m sure) once said “it’s a wise man who follows his one advice, er at least somethin’ like that.

What we did hear though, was that the New York Department of Environmental Conservation, in their infinite wisdom, is experimentin’ with a product rather akin to Rain-X. You’ve heard a’ that I bet. It’s supposed to keep yer windshield clear in the rain, keep it from getting’ all fogged up n’ all. But New York state, which as you know, and like to remind us so frequently, is broke. Too broke to go for the brand name. So they had to opt for a generic copy. Got it at Wal-Mart, I understand. I forget what they call the stuff, but accordin’ to what we heard, it comes from the Shine-O-Lah company.

So the next time ya see somethin’ like that on the Ranger’s boat windshield, just take a little bit closer look. Take a sniff if ya care to. Then you’ll know what Navin R Johnson had to know before he could leave home........you, too, will finally be able to tell shit from Shine-O-Lah. d

look...i'm just the conduit around here...............you know...the messenger.................don't shoot the messenger............
i wasn't there myself................i got the story from chet kincaid who heard it from harry peck...who got i first hand from terry perkins who's close friends with the lukester.
and what i hear about the thompson's part in all this was the 2 rangers went storming into the nooridgewock saloon and claimed the thompson's did the deed. say what.
and the citidiot thing is pretty cute................i made alot of money in manhattan...still do....me and my partner own several apartments in battery park city...not far from ground zero.
but, i have lived here in stillwater for the last fifteen years and have two children born here. me and my wife own 35 acres here in stillwater and 5 acres in the village of old forge where i am building a second home at the airport on north street. a nice place to live when i get real old and can't split firewood anylonger. the thompson's did the same thing when they had kids in 'TOW UNION FREE SCHOOL" district but they did it in eagle bay.
by the way clint thompson's lovely wife sarah is in a family way.
thanks for the tip on the shineola vs. dog shit.....most of my experience is in horseshit and chicken shit however. we have 4 horses and 14 rhode island reds......you should see the manure compost piles i have created. all the rave with the local garderners....nice big fat tomatoes and romane lettuse.
it finally dawned on me after talking with some of my stillwater friends that the "dogshit on the windshield" was a reverse euphemism phrase that describes what's going on between the BRH crew and the nooridgewock crew. you know what i'm talk'about...the hatfields vs. the macoys Wink
my mistake was i took it out of context....................sorry
it will never happen again......................................right Wink

the state needs the money................
the state could make $30 million a year on cooridor passes and increased revenues with hikers, bikers, horse people and the like. not to mention the increased snowmobile traffic in the winter Very Happy
the steel in those rails would make a very nice battleship someday soon.

LOL I’ve been told to inform you that we are the real McCoys, none of that Hatfield crap. & believe me the McCoys ain’t the only ones with a microscope. When we found, this summer, that there are lotsa’ folks out there looking at all kinds a’ things, it was purty good to sit back & just watch. Nice.

As for foiling yer stuff, well that’s just public knowledge, now ain’t it, or did you have somethin’ to hide? Hmmmmmmmmmm? Interestin’ read tho.

Now here’s what I truly don’t understand. How does any law abidin’, regulation savvy business person have any sympathy for those guys? Didn’t you brag on here ‘bout how you paid $30,000 or some ridiculous figure for that lease agreement? And your pumps…bet you paid a purty penny for that containment system, the likes of which is non-existent in Beaver River. And then there’s all those taxes ‘n such to keep track of. All kinds a’ inconvenient crap that businesses in the real world gotta’ comply with, that it seems a BR business doesn’t have to pay for, or pay any attention to, and yet real world business people waste their time feelin’ bad for ‘em. Nope. I just don’t get it. d
